Back to Uni Essentials: Part III

With student finance only a few days away from hitting our bank accounts, we are in a constant day dream about shoes and bags. We've mentally spent the money already and in our minds we have purchased the following:

Although we love the wedges that have got us through this amazing summer in london, when term starts the flats will have to come out. We've found a variety of flats that'll let us run half asleep to the tube to get to those devilish 9am lectures. Better still, we've found flats that will make us feel and look good whilst doing so! Firstly, we love brogues and feel more studious when we have those smart shoes on our feet. Kurt Geiger has made our eyes twinkle with these gold gittery platformed pair. A pale pink pair of ballet pumps from River Island makes a girly change from every day black ones. But for rainy days, keep your shoes waterproof with Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. Alternatively, wear the brilliant patent ankle boots from Kurt Geiger to also keep your feet dry. Match them with the on-trend camouflage jackets we're seeing around town to complete the look. To make use of the embellishment trend in a university-appropriate way, slip on the gold studded ballerinas from Zara and dress the look down with a sweater and jeans.

The back to uni essential we've been looking for this week is a bag. On our wishlist were the above. The black Dorothy Perkins lady bag caught our eye as we somehow ended up in the store outside Tottenham Court Road station on our way home. It's gold lock is both stylish and useful for when you want to keep your belongings safe around the city. We've been lusting over the pink Prada and Miu Miu bags for a long time now (for obvious reasons) but the price tags attached to this beauties is sadly going to keep us strolling past the Village in Westfield London with longing eyes for the foreseeable future. We were tempted by the sleek red DKNY doctor's satchel because of its interesting shape and sexy colour. But as you can see from our instagram, we've already dipped into our savings for old favourite DKNY recently. River Island always seems to great bags in stock and the above is a great size for uni. Wander into Topshop's flagship store in Oxford Street (aka heaven) to see this fun and colourful Marc B yellow bag, which was our favourite from the vast range Marc B has inside.

Although we love all mentioned bags, we've chosen the above bags for the start of term. The first red shoulder bag is from H&M at a bargain of £15! It has plenty of room for the iPad and a few books and a nice pair of pockets at the front for our oyster card which will get us out of stations a lot faster! Likewise, the black satchel is from H&M and was bought last year. It is perfect for uni because of the size that comfortably fits an iPad and stationary but we also love the fact it can be carried in the hand and over the shoulder. We were genuinely surprised by the organisation and spaciousness of the blue AJ bag when we took it home after succumbing to a member of staff in the Westfield Stratford's store's sales tactics. It has three compartments with zips to keep our things organised and safe. We're so glad we got our hands on one of the bags after wanting one for a long time. We picked the blue to go with our jeans but love most of the colours this style is available in.

Bags at the ready, we are really looking forward to the start of term which will follow London Fashion Week; what an exciting few weeks ahead!
